About Amina

 

I'm a Los Angeles-based portrait, branding and lifestyle photographer with a love for travel, people and the stories that make each person and project different. My work spans portraiture, personal and commercial branding, lifestyle photography and editorial work.

I find great joy in working with a wide variety of people, businesses and brands. Over the years, photography has also expanded my experience beyond the camera into creative direction, styling, production and the many details that bring a visual concept together.

 

My Background

 

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, to a Swedish mother and West African father. Growing up immersed in both European and African cultures, and traveling throughout both continents from a young age, gave me a culturally rich upbringing that continues to shape my perspective, my connection with people from different backgrounds, and the way I see and photograph the world.

Having spent years modeling before working behind the camera also shaped the way I photograph people. I understand what it feels like to be in front of the lens and use that experience to offer clear, natural direction with posing and movement, helping people feel more comfortable while bringing out their personality.

My work takes me everywhere, and I'm passionate about photographing people through different chapters of their lives, whether it's a milestone or celebration, the growth of a business, or imagery created to represent a brand to a larger audience.

My work has appeared in publications including Vogue Italia, Brides, Essence, LA Style Magazine and The Hollywood Reporter, among others, as well as in Trustworthy Magazine, which I founded in 2018.
